THE WALK OF THE NEW MAN
Ephesians 4:17-32
"Walk not as Gentiles walk...walk worthy of the calling wherewith you are called...walk in love...walk as children of light...walk circumspectly" (Eph. 4:1,17; 5:1,8,15). What a difference between the admonitions of the apostle of grace and the way we used to walk "according to the prince of the power of the air [Satan]" (Eph. 2:2). Many are the contrasts of the new creation and the fallen creation!

blindness of heart |
walk as children of light |
past feeling/insensitive |
tenderhearted/very sensitive |
work uncleanness |
work the thing that is good |
greediness/self indulgent |
generous in giving to others |
deceived by the devil |
learned-heard-taught by Christ |
former manner of life (death)

new manner of life |

corrupt by deceitful lusts
|
renewed in spirit of the mind
|
old creation subject to vanity |
created righteous and holy |
lying, corrupt words injure |
speaking the truth builds up |
giving place to devil |
guided by Holy Spirit |
grieve the Holy Spirit |
sealed by the Holy Spirit |
anger, wrath, blasphemy |
righteous wrath short lived |
continued with malice treasuring up wrath against the day of God's wrath! |
kind, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God for Christ sake has forgiven us.
