WE PREACH CHRIST CRUCIFIED

1 Corinthians 1:22-31

 

   "...It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For Jews require signs, and Greeks seek wisdom: but we preach Christ crucified:

 

JEWS REQUIRE signs

GREEKS SEEK wisdom

We preach Christ crucified, yet

to Jews a stumbling block

to Greeks foolishness

But unto the called, both JEWS

Christ is the power of God, and

and GREEKS,

Christ is the wisdom of God

BECAUSE the weakness of God is

stronger that men['s strength]

BECAUSE the foolishness of God

is wiser that men['s wisdom]

 

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that among you there are

   not many wise men after the flesh,

   not many mighty men after the flesh,

   not many noble men after the flesh,

 

BECAUSE God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the mighty [things]

BECAUSE God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise [of the world]

 

God has chosen the base things of the world,

God has chosen the despised things of the world,

God has chosen the things which ARE NOT [big in men's eyes]

   in order to bring to nothing that the things that ARE [big in men's eyes]

     in order that no flesh should boast in His presence.

 

But of Him are you in Christ Jesus, Who is made unto us wisdom from God, both righteousness and sanctification, that is to say, REDEMPTION! That, according as it is written, "He that boasts, let him boast in the Lord."
